A cooking appliance (10) has a timer (24) removably attached to the cooking appliance (10) by a dove-tail joint. The cooking appliance has a lid (14) with a lid handle (22) located on a top of the lid. The lid handle (22) has a first portion of the dove-tail joint and the timer (24) has a second portion of the dove-tail joint. The timer (24) is removably attachable to the cooking appliance (10) by aligning and engaging the first portion of the dove-tail joint of the timer with the second portion of the dove-tail joint of the lid handle. The display (26) and controls (28) are located on a top of the timer (24). A bottom portion of the timer includes the second portion of the dove- tail joint, and the bottom portion of the timer has a substantially planar bottom surface (44) forming a stable base for the timer when the timer is in a detached state. The bottom portion of the timer extends below the controls of the timer to provide stability for the timer when the timer is operated in the detached state. A projection (45) in one portion of the dove-tail joint engages a recess (43) in the other portion of the dove-tail joint to releasably secure the time to the cooking appliance when in an attached state.

L'invention concerne un appareil de cuisson (10) comprenant une minuterie (24) fixée amovible sur l'appareil (10) au moyen d'un joint en queue d'aronde. L'appareil de cuisson comprend un couvercle (14) doté d'une poignée (22) disposée sur le dessus du couvercle. La poignée du couvercle (22) comporte une première partie du joint en queue d'aronde et la minuterie (24) comporte la seconde partie de ce joint. La minuterie (24) est fixée de façon amovible à l'appareil de cuisson (10) par alignement et engagement de la première partie du joint en queue d'aronde de la minuterie avec la seconde partie du joint disposée sur la poignée du couvercle. L'affichage (26) et les commandes (28) sont disposés sur le dessus de la minuterie (24). Une partie inférieure de la minuterie comporte la seconde partie du joint en queue d'aronde, cette partie inférieure possédant une surface sensiblement plane (44) formant une base stable pour la minuterie lorsqu'elle est détachée de l'appareil. La partie inférieure de la minuterie s'étend sous les commandes de la minuterie afin de la rendre stable lorsqu'elle est manipulée dans son état détaché. Une projection (45), dans une partie du joint en queue d'aronde, engage un creux (43) pratiqué dans l'autre partie de ce joint afin de sécuriser, de façon réversible, la fixation de la minuterie sur l'appareil de cuisson.
