A lawn and garden tractor includes a water cooled engine having a radiator mounted horizontally over the engine. A first screen is located directly upon and covers the core of the radiator while a further screen having a top and depending front, rear and opposite side walls is positioned over the first screen and has a partial bottom wall located forwardly of the radiator and containing an opening receiving the engine combustion air intake pipe. The openings in the screens are sized such that only particles which will pass through the radiator will pass through both screens.
