PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention a pour objet une machine pour le refroidissement d'un fil métallique. Cette machine comprend un tube de refroidissement, un dispositif d'injection du fluide de refroidissement et un dispositif de déviation du jet de fluide. Le dispositif d'injection comprend une fente annulaire oblique alimentée sous forte pression et des injecteurs alimentés sous basse pression. Le dispositif de déviation comprend un coude ouvert prolongeant le tube et un deuxième coude de courbure inverse se terminant dans une direction normale à celle du fil. L'invention s'applique au refroidissement, avec ou sans trempe, d'un fil métallique.
