A method of drilling a hole in a material comprises marking a hole location on a surface of a material such that a drill bit can be located at the hole location, forming a pool of lubricant around the hole location, and then drilling the hole. A reservoir is temporarily placed on the surface of the material to be drilled and liquid lubricant is added to the reservoir, lubricating the hole location. Where the surface to be drilled is oriented vertically, the reservoir is attached above the hole location and lubricant leaks out of an orifice and down the surface to the hole location. The reservoir can be attached by a magnet, a suction device or an adhesive.
