A method of and apparatus for cooling a hot body has a quantity of liquid coolant atomised by a gaseous medium and sprayed onto a surface to be cooled. The supply of liquid coolant to the spray nozzles is controlled by at least one valve the operation of which is brought about by a non-electrical temperature responsive element in thermal contact with the surface to be cooled.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de refroidissement d'un corps chaud ainsi qu'à un appareillage utilisé à cette fin, lequel comprend une quantité de liquide de refroidissement atomisé par un milieu gazeux et pulvérisé sur une surface à refroidir. L'alimentation des pulvérisateurs en liquide de refroidissement est régulée par au moins une soupape dont le fonctionnement est déclenché par un élément non électrique sensible à la température, en contact thermique avec la surface à refroidir.
