ABSTRACT The invention concerns apparatus for molding thermoplastic tubing. The apparatus may be apparatus for molding single plain walled tubing or may be of the travelling mold type for molding corrugated, ribbed or various other configurations including double walled tubing of various types. A sizing plug for the internal diameter of the pipe is provided with means for applying suction to the inside diameter of the pipe with a view to smoothing the inside of the pipe and allowing faster pipe forming. Suitably, the plug is a cooling plug and provision may be made for communicating the suction to cooling liquid to draw it to the surface of the plug. This may provide lubrication to further speed the pipe forming process.
