A rotary drum cooler for cooling particulate material (e.g. coke particles) having at least one cooling pocket which, in turn, includes a flexible vent pipe assembly which can slide in relation to the shell of the cooler. By making the vent pipe slidable, it can move in response to the expansion and contraction of the pocket within the shell. The vent pipe assembly is comprised of: a) a tube which is connected to the pocket and which slidably extends through an aperture in the shell; and b) a flexible means for sealingly connecting the outer end of the tube to the shell.
L'invention concerne un refroidisseur à tambour rotatif pour refroidir un matériau particulaire (par exemple, des particules de coke) présentant au moins une poche de refroidissement qui à son tour comprend un ensemble d'évents pouvant coulisser par rapport à l'enveloppe du refroidisseur. En effet, l'évent peut se déplacer en réponse à la dilatation et la contraction de la poche dans l'enveloppe. Cet évent comprend (a) un tube qui est relié à la poche et qui s'étend, en vue de son coulissement, dans une ouverture ménagée dans l'enveloppe et (b) un moyen flexible pour assurer le raccordement étanche de l'extrémité extérieure du tube à l'enveloppe.
