A COOLING SYSTEM FOR A HIGH TEMPERATURE TRANSFORMER ASSEMBLY Abstract A transformer assembly including a transformer positioned within a casing, the transformer having a predetermined maximum operating tempera- ture and the casing being filled with a fluid medium having a heat of vaporization temperature substantially equal to the predetermined operating temperature of the transformer. In a more specific embodiment, the trans- former is of the high temperature type capable of operating at 150°C and includes an inner casing filled with a high temperature insulating fluid, the cooling fluid medium being water.
