A methods of the present invention for inhibiting silica scale formation and corrosion in aqueous systems where soluble silica residuals (SiO2) are maintained in excess of 200 mg/L, and source water silica deposition is inhibited with silica accumulations as high as 4000mg/L (cycled accumulation) from evaporation and concentration of source water. The methods of the present invention also provides inhibition of corrosion for carbon steel at corrosion rates of less than 0.3 mpy (mils per year), and less than 0.1 mpy for copper, copper alloy, and stainless steel alloys in highly concentrated (high dissolved solids) waters. The methods of the present invention comprise pretreatment removal of hardness ions from the makeup source water, maintenance of electrical conductivity, and elevating the pH level of the aqueous environment. Thereafter, specified water chemistry residual ranges are maintained in the aqueous system to achieve inhibition of scale and corrosion.

La présente invention concerne des procédés permettant d'inhiber la formation de tartre de silice et la corrosion dans des systèmes aqueux dans lesquels des résidus de silice solubles (SiO2) sont maintenus au delà de 200 mg/L, et le dépôt de silice dans l'eau de source est inhibé avec des accumulations de silice aussi importantes que 4000mg/L (accumulations en cycles) issues de l'évaporation de la concentration de l'eau de source. Les procédés de cette invention concernent aussi l'inhibition de la corrosion d'acier au carbone à des vitesses de corrosion de 0.3 mpy (mils par an) et, < 0,1 mpy pour le cuivre, l'alliage de cuivre et des alliages d'acier inoxydable dans des eaux hautement concentrées (solides hautement dissous). Les procédés de cette invention comprennent le prétraitement de suppression des ions de dureté de l'eau de source de mise à niveau, la maintenance de la conductivité électrique et l'élévation du niveau de pH de l'environnement aqueux. Puis, des plages de résidus chimiques de l'eau spécifiées sont maintenues dans le système aqueux de façon à obtenir l'inhibition du tartre et de la corrosion.
