ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A wheel chair with main wheel supports operating from opposite side frames and downwardly extensible wheel supports at the front of each side frame, and control means engaging an anchor with the escalator flights and engaging a follower with a track in the side wall of the escalator and responsive to the variable displacement thereof to depress the extensible wheel support and thereby maintain horizontal disposition of the wheel chair during ascent and descent of the escalator.
