A method and system for coordinating the use of beam forming (94, 96) between two communicating entities (90, 92) in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The two entities may communicate control information regarding their respective use of beam forming. A correction factor for at least one entity is provided wherein said entity may reduce or withhold its beam adjustment in order to correct any error measured in the alignment of its beam with respect to the beam of the other entity with which it is communicating. Adjustment parameters for adjusting the beams are selected based on conditions surrounding the communication.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un système servant à coordonner la mise en forme d'un faisceau (94, 96) entre deux entités de communication (90, 92) dans un système de communication sans fil. Les deux entités peuvent communiquer des données de contrôle concernant leur utilisation respective de la mise en forme du faisceau. On décrit un facteur de correction pour au moins une entité, laquelle entité peut réduire ou suspendre son réglage du faisceau en vue de corriger toute erreur mesurée dans l'alignement de son faisceau relativement au faisceau de l'autre entité avec laquelle elle communique. Des paramètres de réglage des faisceaux sont choisis sur la base des conditions dans lesquelles s'effectue la communication.
