ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method for separating, purifying and storing corn pollen comprising: - means for separating corn pollen from tassel and plant material - means for purifying corn pollen, free from toxic or other materials injurious on oral, topical or parenteral administration - means for storing corn pollen. Tassels containing pollen from the corn plant are collected and leaves removed. The tassels are stored in semi darkness in a well ventilated place where the temperature does not exceed 45 degrees C. When the anthers reach an absolute moisture content of between 10% and 12% the pollen is matured and ready for separation. The anthers are opened and the corn pollen separated by grinding or milling the tassels in a rotary mill or grinder operating at a speed of not less than 500 revolutions per minute. The resulting material is screened through screens of successively decreasing mesh size to remove impurities with a final screening through a mesh with openings of a size of not less than 150 micrometers and not more than 200 micrometers. Fine impurities are separated by flotation and hydrolysis in black plastic bags, in a dry, cool place at a constant temperature of 4 degrees C.
