The present invention relates to a process for copolymerizing a dicarboxylic acid, a dialkyl ester, and a diol in the presence of a transesterification catalyst. The process involves heating a mixture containing acids and esters in excess diol at elevated temperatures in the presence of a transesterification catalyst and returning any vaporized diol to the reaction vessel until the theoretical amount of alcohol and/or water have been involved. The alcohol and/or water of reaction is not allowed to return to the vessel. When the theoretical weight of alcohol and/or water is collected, the excess diol is removed and the polymerization is allowed to proceed.
L'invention concerne un procédé de copolymérisation d'un acide dicarboxylique, d'un ester de dialkyle, et d'un diol en présence d'un catalyseur de transestérification. Le procédé consiste à chauffer un mélange contenant des acides carboxyliques et des esters, et un diol excédentaire à des températures élevées en présence d'un catalyseur de transestérification et à renvoyer tout diol vaporisé dans la cuve de réaction jusqu'à ce que le volume théorique d'alcool et/ou d'eau soit atteint. L'alcool et/ou l'eau de réaction ne doivent pas retourner dans la cuve. Lorsque le poids théorique d'alcool et/ou d'eau est recueilli, le diol excédentaire est enlevé et la polymérisation peut commencer.
