4761 COPOLYMERIZED SILICA HYDROSOL BOUND CRACKING CATALYSTS Abstract of the Disclosure A process for modifying the silica hydrosol used to bind zeolite clay catalysts by adding salts of titania, zirconia, iron or ceria to the silica hydrosol in the course of preparation is disclosed. This addition alters the physical characteristics of catalyst when titania and zirconia salts are added and alters the matrix activity when quadrivalent cerium salts or iron salts are added to the silica hydrosol. Zeolite materials are useful as hydrocarbon cracking catalysts. - 1 -
