ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method for viscosifying control of an organic liquid which comprises adding a sufficient of a copolymer to such organic liquid to increase the viscosifying of such organic liquid, said copolymer having the formula: Image wherein R1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 25 carbon atoms, R2 is an alkylene group having 3 to 17 carbon atoms, z is a hydrogen a mixture of hydrogen and an alkyl group having 1 to 25 carbon atoms, x is 95.0 to 99.95 mole % and y is .05 to 5.0 mole %, and addi- tionally this copolymer can be complexed with an amine containing polymer, wherein the complex functions as viscosification agent.
