A flexible circuit (10) to interconnect two components of an electrical device is formed with a flexible polymeric substrate (14). A copper alloy strip (12) is laminated to the flexible substrate (14). This copper alloy strip (12) is processed to have relatively high strength and an ultimate tensile strength in excess of about 551.6 MPa by alloying additions, by processing, or by a combination of the two. When such a copper alloy strip (12) is laminated to the flexible polymeric substrate (14), the resultant flexible circuit (10) has improved (more cycles to failure) dynamic fatigue performance when compared to both pure copper and dilute copper alloy strips.

L'invention concerne un circuit souple (10) pour l'interconnexion de deux éléments d'un dispositif électrique, constitué d'un substrat en polymère flexible (14). Une bande en alliage de cuivre (12) est superposée au substrat souple (14). Cette bande (12) est traitée de manière qu'elle possède une résistance relativement élevée et une résistance à la traction supérieure à environ 551,6 MPa, suite à des additions à l'alliage, à un traitement ou à une combinaison des deux. En superposant la bande en alliage de cuivre (12) au substrat en polymère souple (14), on améliore les performances de fatigue dynamique du circuit souple (10) résultant (nombre de cycles supérieur par rapport aux défaillances), ce qui donne une meilleure performance par rapport aux bandes en alliage de cuivre pur ou dilué.
