The present invention provides a composition comprising an amine oxide and an aqueous copper amine complex. Another embodiment of the present invention is a method for preserving and/or waterproofing a wood substrate by contacting the composition with the wood substrate. Yet another embodiment is an article comprising a wood substrate and the composition of the present invention. This composition has high efficacy against fungi, including copper tolerant fungi such as brown rot and soft rot, and is phase stable at high concentrations. Additionally, the amine oxide in the composition may impact waterproofing properties. The composition of the present invention is halide free and is environmentally friendly.
L'invention concerne une composition comprenant un oxyde d'amine et un complexe aqueux d'amine et de cuivre. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne un procédé pour conserver et/ou rendre étanche à l'eau un substrat en bois par l'application de cette composition audit substrat; encore un mode de réalisation se rapporte à un article comprenant un substrat en bois et la composition de la présente invention. Cette composition est hautement efficace contre les champignons, y compris contre ceux tolérant le cuivre comme la pourriture brune et la pourriture molle, et stable en phase dans des concentrations élevées. En outre, l'oxyde d'amine contenu dans la composition peut avoir un impact sur les propriétés d'étanchéité à l'eau. La composition de la présente invention est exempte d'halogénures et par conséquent écologique.
