ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A copper base material suitable for making heat exchange tubes having a high erosion-corrosion resistance as well as a good heat conductivity essentially contains from 0.05 to 0.4% by weight of chromium, from 0.2 to 3.0% by weight of zinc, and from 0.1 to 0.5% by weight of iron and/or from 0.5 to 0.4% by weight of titanium, and optionally contains from 0.008 to 0.1% by weight of phosphorus or from 0.5 to 2.0% by weight of tin, the balance being copper together with incidental impurities.
