This invention relates to copper complexes that significantly reduce the decay of wood, cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin caused by fungi. A process for treating such materials with these copper-containing anti-fungal agents is also disclosed. A typical copper complex produced by the process of the invention, corresponding to the copper complex of amidoxime of sucrose is shown in Figure 1A (Cu-Am-Suc7).

L'invention concerne des complexes de cuivre qui permettent de diminuer considérablement la pourriture du bois, de la cellulose, de l'hémicellulose et de la lignine, ladite pourriture étant provoquée par des champignons. Ladite invention a aussi trait à un procédé de traitement de telles matières avec des agents antifongiques contenant du cuivre.
