An improvement in the process of recovery of copper from aqueous ammoniacal solutions containing copper values in which the copper values are extracted from the aqueous ammoniacal solution by an organic phase comprised of a diketone copper extractant dissolved in a water-immiscible organic hydrocarbon solvent, by improving the stripping of the copper from the organic extractant phase, in which the improved stripping results from the incorporation into, or addition to the diketone extractant phase of a catalytic amount of a hydroxy aryl oxime. Also an improved extractant composition is provided comprised of the mixture of a diketone copper extractant and a catalytic amount (preferably about 0.5 to about 5 mole % in relation to the diketone) of a hydroxy aryl oxime, such as nonyl or dodecyl salicylaldoxime.
Amélioration apportée au procédé de récupération du cuivre dans des solutions ammoniacales aqueuses contenant des valeurs de cuivre, procédé dans lequel on extrait les valeurs de cuivre de la solution ammoniacale aqueuse au moyen d'une phase organique constituée d'un agent d'extraction du cuivre au dicétone dissous dans un solvant hydrocarburé organique immiscible dans l'eau. L'amélioration consiste à améliorer la séparation du cuivre de la phase de l'agent d'extraction organique, la séparation résultant de l'incorporation ou de l'addition à la phase de l'agent d'extraction au dicétone, d'une quantité catalytique d'une oxime d'hydroxyaryle. L'invention porte également sur une composition d'agent d'extraction améliorée constituée d'un mélange d'agent d'extraction du cuivre au dicétone et d'une quantité catalytique (de préférence environ 0,5 à environ 5 moles % par rapport à la dicétone) d'une oxime d'hydroxyaryle telle que de la saliciladoxime nonylique ou dodécylique.
