The invention relates to ceramic materials usable as tritium producing material in a thermonuclear fusion reactor. These materials are constituted by lithium zirconate substituted by copper in the form of solid solutions of the type Li2ZrO3, whose compositions are in the hatched area of the ternary diagram shown below. Preferably, they comply with the formula: Li 2 Image Zr Image CuxO3 with 0 < x 0.8.
