This aims to provide a profiling apparatus (10) for profiling a work (100). The profiling apparatus (10) comprises a shoe (1) for contacting the work (100), an air cylinder (20) for making the shoe (1) vertically movable, a clamp mechanism (3) for gripping the work (100) from a side face positioned in a direction (Y) perpendicular to an advancing direction (X), and a transversely direct-acting slide guide (8) for sliding the clamp mechanism (3) in the direction (Y).
