The invention relates to a method of extracting organic substances from coral, consisting in treating the coral with a fluid or a mixture of fluids in the supercritical state, without altering the crystalline structure of said coral, at a temperature of less than 270 ~C and at a pressure much greater than the critical pressure of the fluid or mixture of fluids, for example, of the order of at least three times or, preferably, at least five times greater than said critical pressure. The invention also relates to the coral obtained using said method and to bone substitutes produced therefrom.

La présente invention concerne un procédé d'extraction de substances organiques présentes dans le corail, qui consiste ô traiter le corail par un fluide ou un mélange de fluides à l'état supercritique sans modifier la structure cristalline dudit corail, à une température inférieure à 270·C, et à une pression très supérieure à la pression critique dudit fluide ou mélange de fluides, par exemple de l'ordre d'au moins 3 fois, et de préférence d'au moins 5 fois ladite pression critique. Elle concerne également le corail obtenu par ce procédé ainsi que les substituts osseux fabriqués à partir de ce corail.
