ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Tire cord comprising (1) a core consisting of a single yarn or a plurality of parallel yarns laid side-by-side and (2) a wrapper yarn wound helically around the core yarn(s) 80 as to form spaced-apart helices are described. Conventional nylon or polyester tire yarns may be used as core yarns and as the wrapper yarn. The tire cords of the invention offer cost saving advantages over conventional tire cords.
