A B S T R A C T Improved core drills and core drill elements. The core drill is of the type having a carrying drill tube and at least one cutting element attached to one end of drill tube. In the present invention, structural means are provided on one end surface of the cutting element extending over the entire length of the end surface to receive all or a portion of the one end of the drill tube to strengthen the core drill. The invention is also directed toward a method for making the im- proved core drill and a method for reconstructing it. The cut- ting elements can be curved or straight.
