The invention relates to a core intended to act as a support for a reel of paper, particularly of toilet paper, said core being formed by winding at least one strip of cellulose wadding, said strip being at least locally impregnated with starch so as to improve its rigidity. Configured in this way, the invention is capable of providing a core that has both the mechanical strength needed for the envisaged use and a friability that is vastly improved over a cardboard core so that it can be disposed of directly into a toilet bowl without the risk of blocking the waste pipe.
L'invention concerne un mandrin destiné à servir de support à une bobine de papier, notamment de papier toilette, ledit mandrin étant formé par l'enroulement d'au moins une bande en ouate de cellulose, ladite bande étant imprégnée au moins localement d'amidon de manière à améliorer sa rigidité. Ainsi configurée, l'invention est susceptible de fournir un mandrin possédant à la fois une résistance mécanique adaptée à l'usage envisagé et une délitabilité fortement améliorée par rapport à un mandrin en carton de manière à lui permettre d'être directement jetable dans une cuvette de toilette sans risque de bouchage du conduit d'évacuation.
