A core (20) for compressed core wound paper products adapted for rotation on a spindle is disclosed. The core (20) is deformable from a generally rounded configuration to a generally flattened configuration for transportation and storage. The core (20) includes tab portions (30) that are deformable to extend radially inward of core inner and outer surfaces (28, 26) to reduce core to spindle clearance when the core (20) is rounded for use.

L'invention se rapporte à un tube (20) destiné à des produits en papier enroulés, comprimés et conçus pour tourner sur une broche. Le tube (20) peut se déformer et passer d'une configuration généralement arrondie à une configuration généralement aplatie pour le transport et le stockage. Le tube (20) comporte des pattes (30) qui peuvent se déformer pour s'étendre radialement vers l'intérieur des surfaces interne et externe (28, 26) du tube afin de réduire le jeu du tube par rapport à la broche lorsque ledit tube (20) se présente sous une forme arrondie pour être utilisé.
