A method is provided for separating the constituents of fractured corn kernels, comprising endosperm and germ, based on the densities of the respective constituents, through use of a table separator so as to form at least two output streams comprising at least one endosperm-rich fraction output stream and at least one germ-rich fraction output stream. A method of corn milling that incorporates the aforementioned inventive method is also provided. The separation process is accomplished by means of the solid surface of the table separator, positioned on an inclined angle, as it is subjected to movement, thereby causing the kernel constituents to separate from each other based on density. A table separator is provided, wherein the table separator comprises a plurality of solid-bottoms trays and a plurality of dimples for facilitating separation of degerminated corn into endosperm and germ fraction, the dimples being aligned in linear juxtaposition on the surface of the trays and having a center portion raised with respect to the perimeter of the dimples.
