ABSTRACT A corner assembly for two generally rectangular hollow members includes a corner gusset located within the hollow members, which gusset has a base plate with two right angularly related sides and a hypotenuse side having a centrally disposed converging recess therein extending into the base plate. Each right angularly related side has an integral upstanding peripheral flange extending beyond the hypotenuse Or the base plate to provide an extension; the hypotenuse has a pair of upstanding flanges, integral with bass plate, and separated by the recess with each flange of the pair of flanges having a flat portion extending into the recess. The flat portions are substantially parallel to the nearest peripheral flange and each of the pair of flanges has an angularly related extension removed from the recess and overlying the extension of the nearest peripheral flange. Each extension of each peripheral flange bears against the respective outer wall of the hollow members and each flat portion bears against the respective inner wall of the hollow members. An aperture is provided in each extension with a smaller aligned aperture in the respective overlying extension. Each of the hollow members has a screw extending through the respective outer wall and adjacent extension to engage the wall of the smaller aperture to draw the gusset tightly against the respective outer wall of the hollow members.
