A log house made of individual logs in which in order to form the corner joints each lower log has, in the area in which a log rests on it, slanting cuts parallel to its centre line which form a saddle. Each resting log has, in the area of the lower log, a V- notch which overlaps the saddle, resting with both of its lateral areas on the slanting cuts of the lower log. In order that the joint is substantially leakproof the saddle is divided, at least in the area of one saddle side, by means of a crosspiece, and the V- notch is divided, at least in the area of one V-notch flank, by means of a groove running in the longitudinal direction of the resting log, the crosspiece engaging in the groove where logs are resting on one another.
