ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A corona generating apparatus in which the electrode and grid are cleaned to remove particle contamination therefrom. The cleaning device flexes and scrapes the grid while sub- stantially simultaneously therewith wiping the electrode to remove contaminants adhering to either of the foregoing. This maintains the electrical characteristics of the corona generating apparatus substantially constant eliminating any variations introduced by the accumulation of contaminating particles on the grid or electrode. The foregoing abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in the specification, nor is it intended to be limiting as to the scope of the invention in any way.
