The present invention improves the efficiency and safety of beating heart CABG surgery through a coronary stabilizer that isolates and extrudes the target artery through the arterial window formed by its geometry and contacting perimeter, thereby facilitating surgical grafting while minimizing distortion and deflection to underlying heart tissue or minimizing restriction to the natural beating function of the heart. The coronary stabilizer is also configured with a manipulation handle that improves the surgeon's sensitivity and manual dexterity during the deployment of said stabilizer, allowing better feedback to the imposed immobilization loads to the underlying heart tissue.
