A hand-held correction or mark- ing material (20) comprises a solid syn- thetic material (26) containing a correction or marking material. The matrix is such that, when it is drawn over and in contact with a paper or similar surface, it deposits thereon as a thin dry coating which is im- mediately hard. The matrix can liquify temporarily in the contact area and then immediately resolidify in the form of the thin coating. The correction materials comprise an opacifier such as titanium dioxide, and the marking materials com- prise a colored pigment or dye in the ma- trix.

Un dispositif (20) manuel de correction ou de marquage comprend une matrice de synthèse solide (26) qui contient une substance de correction ou de marquage. Quand on l'applique sur du papier ou une surface similaire, cette matrice y dépose une mince couche sèche à durcissement immédiat. Cette matrice peut se liquéfier temporairement sur la zone de contact et se resolidifier immédiatement sous forme de couche sèche. Les substances de correction comprennent un opacifiant tel que le dioxyde de titane et les substances de marquage comprennent un pigment coloré ou une teinture incorporée à la matrice.
