An effective corrosion inhibiting polymer composition including an interceptor for an acid gas combined with known VCI ingredients produces a more effective VCI than the prior art composition. The composition in macrogranular form may be held in a receptacle which is sealed in a container in which ferrous articles are protected. When the composition, greatly diluted is injection- or blow-molded or extruded as film which contains more than 100 ppm of a 2,4-6- tri-substituted phenol and uniformly dispersed small amounts of solid micron- sized particles of interceptor, an alkali metal nitrite and a solid adjuvant to aid in dispersing the solid particles, the film is transparent and has a smooth surface. All solid particles in the material have a primary particle size smaller than 53 ~m which makes it possible to obtain the uniform dispersion, transparency and smooth surfaces of an article such as film in which a ferrous metal object is wrapped prior to shipment; or, a capsule which is filled with the VCIs and placed with ferrous metal objects in a sealed container.
L'invention concerne une composition polymère anticorrosion efficace comprenant un intercepteur de gaz acide combiné à des ingrédients anticorrosion volatils (VCI) connus inhibant la corrosion de manière plus efficace qu'une composition de l'état de la technique. Ladite composition peut être conservée sous forme macrogranulaire dans un réceptacle hermétiquement enfermé dans un récipient dans lequel des articles ferreux sont protégés. Lorsque la composition, grandement diluée, est moulée par injection ou par soufflage ou extrudée sous forme de film contenant plus de 100 ppm de phénol 2,4-6-tri-substitué et de petites quantités de particules d'intercepteur solides de l'ordre du micron uniformément dispersées, un nitrure de métal alcalin et un adjuvant solide favorisant la dispersion des particules solides, ledit film est transparent et sa surface lisse. Toutes les particules solides du matériau présentent une granulométrie primaire inférieure 53 ?m qui permet d'obtenir une dispersion uniforme et des surfaces d'article transparentes et lisses, cet article pouvant être un film dans lequel un objet métallique ferreux est enveloppé avant expédition ou une capsule remplie de VCI et placée avec lesdits objets métalliques ferreux dans un récipient hermétiquement scellé.
