Corrosion-inhibiting Compositions Abstract of the Disclosure New compositions comprise an organic material and, as corrosion inhibitor and/or antioxidant, at least one compound having the formula I: Image I wherein R1 and R2 may be the same or different and each is hydrogen, C1-C15alkyl, C3-C15alkenyl, C7-C10phenylalkyl, C6-C18aryl having 6 or 10 aromatic ring carbon atoms; or C5-C12cycloalkyl; R3 is hydrogen or C1-C4alkyl; n is 0 or 1; A is a residue of a heterocyclic ring having 5-7 ring members and 1-4 nitrogen atoms, or A is a residue of a heterocyclic ring having 5-7 ring memberes and 1-4 nitrogen atoms and is fused to a further heterocyclic ring or to a carbocyclic ring, or A is a carbocyclic ring, in particular a phenyl or naphthyl ring, and wherein R is one or more of hydrogen, C1-C15alkyl, C1-C4halogenoalkyl, C1-C12alkoxy, C1-C12alkylthio, phenyl- thio, benzylthio, C1-C12alkylsulphonyl, phenyl, C7-C15alkylphenyl, C7-C10phenylalkyl, C5-C8cycloalkyl, halogen, NO2, CN, COOH, COO(C1- C12alkyl), OH, NH2, CONH2, NHR4, N(R4)2, CONH(R4) or -CON(R4)2 wherein R4 is C1-C12alkyl, C3-C12alkyl which is interrupted by one or more O-atoms, C5-C8cycloalkyl, benzyl, phenyl or phenyl which is substituted by halogen, C1-C4alkyl, C1-C4alkoxy or NO2, or N(R4)2 is a pyrrolidino, piperidino or morpholine group; provided that i) A is not benzothiazole residue; and ii) when A is a carbocyclic ring and n is 1, A is not 3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl and, when n is 1 and A is phenyl substi- tuted by alkyl, R1 and R2 are not both t-butyl.
