-11- ABSTRACT Corrosion inhibition in sintered stainles steel A method of enhancing the corrosion resistance of sintered stainless steel, particularly against attack by acids, such as acetic acid, under non-oxidising conditions. The sintered stainles steel is activated, for example by treatment with acid and is then treated with a phosphate containing solution. The sintered stainless steel has improved resistance to subsequent attack by acid.
