A corrosion-resistant coating for a substrate is described. The corrosion- resistant coating comprises a first distinct layer of a first composition disposed over the substrate, wherein the first distinct layer has a thickness that is not greater than about 10 microns, and a second distinct layer of a second composition disposed over the first distinct layer, wherein the second distinct layer has a thickness that is not greater than about 10 microns an d either the first distinct layer or the second distinct layer is corrosion-resistant. Preferably, the thickness of each distinct layer is less than about 1 or 2 microns, more preferably, less than about 0.4 microns. The coating may comprise additional layers. Corrosion-resistant articles, methods of protecting articles, and methods of depositing corrosion-resistant coatings are also described.
L'invention concerne un revêtement résistant à la corrosion et destiné à un substrat. Le revêtement résistant à la corrosion comprend une première couche distincte faite d'une première composition et disposée par-dessus le substrat, ladite première couche distincte ayant une épaisseur égale ou inférieure à environ 10 microns, et une deuxième couche distincte faite d'une deuxième composition et disposée par-dessus la première couche distincte. La deuxième couche distincte possède une épaisseur égale ou inférieure à environ 10 micromètres ; soit la première couche distincte soit la deuxième couche résiste à la corrosion. De préférence, l'épaisseur de chaque couche distincte est inférieure à environ 1-2 micromètres, si possible, à 0,4 micromètre. Le revêtement peut comprendre des couches supplémentaires. L'invention concerne également des articles résistant à la corrosion, des procédés pour protéger des articles et des procédés de dépôt de revêtements résistant à la corrosion.
