Abstract of the Disclosure A covered electrode for welding chloride resistant stainless steel of the type containing about 0.04% carbon, 20% chromium, 24% nickel, 5% molybdenum, and balance iron. The covered electrode provides the capability for producing substantially defect-free stainless steel weld deposits that offer excellent resistance to crevice corrosion, as well as general corrosion in chloride containing environments.
