The present invention relates to a compound which is highly selective for CRFR1 without having any significant cross-reactivity for corticotropin- releasing-factor~receptor-2 (CRFR2) and/or corticotropin-releasing-factor- binding protein (CRFBP), said compound comprising or alternatively consisting of the amino acid sequence as depicted in SEQ ID No: 1. In another aspect, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical and/or diagnostic composition comprising the novel CRFR1 agonist of the present invention. The present invention also provides a kit comprising the novel CRFR1 agonist of the present invention and optionally instructions to use. Furthermore, the present invention provides the use of the compound of the present invention for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of depression and, additionally, the use of the compound of the present invention for the preparation of a diagnostic composition for the determination of pituitary corticotroph responsiveness and/or for differentiating pituitary and ectopic production of ACTH in patients with ACTH-dependent Cushing's syndrome.
La présente invention a trait à un composé ayant une sélectivité élevée pour le CRFR1 sans présenter de réactivité croisée significative pour le récepteur 2 du facteur de libération de la corticotrophine (CRFR2) et/ou de la protéine de liaison du facteur de libération de la corticotrophine (CFRBP), ledit composé comportant ou étant constitué de la séquence d'acides aminés tel que décrite dans la SEQ ID No: 1. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, la présente invention a trait à une composition pharmaceutique et/ou diagnostique comportant le nouvel agoniste CRFR1 de la présente invention. La présente invention a également trait à une trousse comportant le nouvel agoniste CRFR1 de la présente invention et éventuellement un mode d'emploi. La présente invention a trait en outre à l'utilisation du composé de la présente invention pour la préparation d'une composition pharmaceutique pour le traitement de la dépression, et par ailleurs, l'utilisation du composé de la présente invention pour la préparation d'une composition diagnostique pour la détermination de la sensibilité à l'hormone corticotrophine du gland pituitaire et/ou pour la différenciation de la production pituitaire et la sécrétion ectopique de l'hormone adénocorticotrope chez de patients souffrant du syndrome de Cushing dépendant de l'hormone adénocorticotrope.
