Topical compositions comprising: - a physiologically acceptable alkanediol, ether diol or diether alcohol containing up to (8) carbon atoms; - water; and - optionally an unsaturated fatty alcohol; and optionally further conventional excipients, for use as a cosmeceutical, in particular for use in the repair or maintenance of skin barrier function. They are indicated for use in e.g. moisturizing skin, nail and mucosa and, when an optional pharmaceutically active agent is present, additionally in the treatment of various skin, nail and mucosal diseases. Also disclosed are compositions suitable for topical application to infants and babies for treating dry skin, and soothing skin irritated from diaper rash and scrapes.
La présente invention concerne des préparations locales comprenant : - un alcanediol, un éther-diol ou un diéther-alcool de qualité physiologique comprenant jusqu'à (8) atomes de carbone ; - de l'eau ; et - éventuellement un alcool gras insaturé ; et éventuellement des excipients courants supplémentaires, lesdites préparations pouvant être employées en tant que produit cosméceutique, en particulier pour des applications de type réparation ou maintenance des fonctions barrières de la peau. Lesdites préparations sont adaptées à un emploi dans, par exemple, l'hydratation de la peau, des ongles et des muqueuses et, de plus, lorsqu'un principe actif pharmaceutique optionnel est présent, dans le traitement de diverses maladies de la peau, des ongles et des muqueuses. La présente invention décrit également des préparations adaptées à une application locale chez les nourrissons et les nouveau-nés pour le traitement des peaux sèches, et le soulagement des peaux irritées du fait du frottement des couches.
