An apparatus for applying a cosmetic, such, as mascara to eyelashes, includes a handle (132), a stem (134), and an applicator head (136) coupled to the stem and supported for rotation relative to the handle. An actuator (138) moves the applicator head in a rotational oscillating motion, in which the applicator head automatically rotates in both a first rotational direction and a second rotational direction in response to operation of the actuator. Additionally or alternatively, the actuator may also radially translate the applicator head, move the applicator head through an angle of rotation less than 360 degrees, and vary the rotational speed of the applicator head. The applicator head may include protrusions that are spaced to define gaps during rotation, thereby to promote coverage and separation of eyelashes.
L'invention concerne un dispositif d'application d'un produit cosmétique, notamment un mascara, sur les cils, qui comprend un manche, une tige et une tête d'applicateur couplée à la tige et fixée de manière à pivoter autour du manche. La manipulation d'un actionneur imprime à la tête de l'applicateur un mouvement oscillant rotatif automatique qui entraîne automatiquement la tête d'applicateur dans des première et seconde directions de rotation. De plus, ou dans une variante, l'actionneur peut également déplacer radialement la tête d'applicateur, déplacer la tête d'applicateur dans un angle de rotation inférieur à 360°, et modifier la vitesse de rotation de la tête d'application. La tête d'applicateur peut également comporter des saillies espacées qui forment des vides au cours de la rotation, ce qui permet de recouvrir parfaitement les cils de mascara tout en les séparant les uns des autres.
