A cosmetic composition in the form of a water-in-oil emulsion comprising: (a) continuous oil phase and; (b) discontinuous aqueous phase comprising (i) water; (ii) acidic skin care active which is insoluble in said aqueous phase; and (iii) nonionic surfactant selected from polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene ethers of C4-C22 alcohols, and mixtures thereof. The compositions of the invention provide increased product stability and improved acidic skin care active solubility.

Cette invention se rapporte à une composition cosmétique sous la forme d'une émulstion eau dans l'huile comprenant: (a) une phase d'huile continue et (b) une phase aqueuse discontinue contenant: (i) de l'eau; (ii) un principe actif acide pour le soin de la peau qui est insoluble dans cette phase aqueuse et (iii) un tensioactif non ionique choisi parmi les éthers de polyoxyéthylène-polyoxypropylène d'alcools C4-C22, et des mélanges de ceux-ci. Ces compositions assurent une stabilité accrue du produit et une plus grande solubilité du principe actif acide pour le soin de la peau.
