A cosmetic composition suitable for topical application to the skin or hair comprising: (a) a liquid, polyol carboxylic acid ester having a polyol moiety and at least 4 carboxylic acid moieties, wherein the polyol moiety is selected from sugars and sugar alcohols containing from about 4 to about 8 hydroxyl groups, and wherein each carboxylic acid moiety has from about 8 to about 22 carbon atoms, and wherein said liquid polyol carboxylic acid ester has a complete melting point of less than about 30 ~C; (b) an emollient material selected from compounds having formula (I), wherein R1 is selected from H or CH3, R2, R3 and R4 are independently selected from C1-C20 straight chain or branched chain alkyl, and x is an integer of from 1-20, and compounds having formula (II), wherein R5 is selected from optionally hydroxy or C1-C4 alkyl substituted benzyl and R6 is selected from C1-C20 branched or straight chain alkyl; and mixtures thereof. The compositions herein provide improved skin feel, skin smoothness, skin softness and skin care benefits.
Une composition cosmétique adaptée à l'application topique sur la peau ou les cheveux comprend: (a) un ester d'acide carboxylique de polyol liquide ayant une fraction polyol et au moins 4 fractions d'acide carboxylique, la fraction polyol étant sélecétionnée parmi des sucres et des itols contenant entre environ 4 à environ 8 groupes hydroxyle, chaque fraction d'acide carboxylique contenant entre environ 8 et environ 22 atomes de carbone et ledit ester d'acide carboxylique de polyol ayant un point de fusion complète inférieur à environ 30 ·C; (b) une matière émoliente sélectionnée parmi des composés de formule (I), où R?1¿ est sélectionné entre H ou CH¿3?; R?2¿, R?3¿ et R?4¿ sont indépendamment sélectionnés entre alkyle C¿1?-C¿20? à chaîne linéaire ou ramifiée, et x représente un entier compris entre 1 et 20; et des composés de formule (II), où R?5¿ est sélectionné entre benzyle à substitution alkyle C¿1?-C¿4? ou éventuellement hydroxy et R?6¿ est sélectionné entre alkyle C¿1?-C¿20? à chaîne ramifiée ou linéaire; et des mélanges de ces derniers. Les compositions de cette invention apportent plus de confort à la peau, rendent la peau plus lisse et plus douce et la protègent.
