ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to cosmetic compositions containing at least one polyethoxylated vitamin E species, which may be prepared by reacting a vitamin E with ethylene oxide, and exhibit an excellent cell protecting activity in the living body. The cosmetic compositions in the form of a skin-care, hair-care, lip-care and make-up cosmetic composition, which contain at least one polyethoxylated vitamin E species in an amount of 0.01 to 50% by weight, provide a protection against harmful oxygen species, show a moisture retention ability, and increase the tensile strength of hair, and substantivity and durability of the cosmetic compositions, when applied to the skin or hair.
