A marker substance includes a photosensitive toxic material to tag subcutaneous hair growth cells of a target zone of skin. Illumination apparatus is used to illuminate the skin in the target zone with light of a wavelength selected to effect preferential interaction with the hair growth cells tagged with the marker substance, resulting in a toxic effect inhibiting the hair growth capability of the tagged illuminated cells; wherein. In the kit the marker substance may be provided in a form comprising discrete portions of the photosensitive toxic material and a carrier material, the portions to be mixed prior to application to the target zone. Additionally or alternatively, the illumination apparatus includes an applicator configured to deliver non-laser light and/or configured to be placed against the target zone skin to deliver the illumination to the tagged hair growth cells.
L'invention concerne une substance de marquage comprenant une matière toxique photosensible permettant de marquer les cellules sous-cutanées de croissance pileuse sur une zone cible de la peau. On utilise un appareil lumineux pour illuminer la peau contenue dans la zone cible à l'aide d'un rayonnement lumineux présentant une longueur d'onde sélectionnée de manière à déclencher l'interaction préférée avec les cellules de croissance pileuse marquées au moyen de la substance de marquage; on obtient ainsi un effet toxique qui inhibe le potentiel de la croissance pileuse des cellules cibles illuminées. Dans cet appareil, la substance de marquage peut se présenter sous une forme contenant des portions distinctes de ladite matière toxique photosensible, et une matière support. Les portions doivent être préalablement mélangées avant d'être appliquées sur la zone cible. De plus ou dans un mode de réalisation différent, l'appareil lumineux comprend un applicateur conçu pour produire une lumière non-laser et/ou conçu pour être placé contre la zone cible de la peau de manière à fournir un éclairage aux cellules de croissance pileuse cibles.
