A low voltage track lighting system comprises a rail having a pair of electrically isolated conductors, each having a longitudinal groove therein. Each of said conductors include exterior surfaces that may be coated or painted with non- conductive compounds while the grooves therein remain unpainted and thus conductive. The system further includes a system connector for electrically coupling a device to each of said conductors.
