The use is disclosed of an inulin-type fructan for the manufacture of cosmetic rinse-off compositions for the treatment of the hair and/or the skin. The compositions comprise, apart from conventional ingredients in conventional amounts, from 0.10 to 10% of the inulin-type fructan, and are free from (i) cationic polymers, (ii) terpolymers comprising a non-ionic monomer bearing a urethane group, and (iii) polysaccharides that are different from inulin-type fructan.Typical rinse-off compositions in accordance with the invention are also free from monosaccharides and from di- and oligosaccharides that are different from inulin-type fructan, apart from the mono- and disaccharides that naturally occur in inulin-type fructan. The inulin-type fructan, which is biodegradable and has no eutrophic effects on surface waters, can be used to completely substitute cationic polymeric conditioning agents in conventional cosmetic rinse-off compositions. Novel rinse-off compositions are also disclosed.
L'utilisation d'un fructane de type inuline pour la fabrication de compositions cosmétiques de rinçage en vue du traitement des cheveux et/ou de la peau. Les compositions renferment, en sus des ingrédients habituels dans les quantités habituelles, entre 0,10 et 10 % de fructane de type inuline et sont exemptes de (i) polymères cationiques, (ii) terpolymères comprenant un monomère non ionique portant un groupe d'uréthanne, et (iii) des polysaccharides différents du fructane de type inuline. Les compositions de rinçage typiques de cette invention sont également exemptes de monosaccharides et de di- et oligosaccharides différents du fructane de type inuline, à l'exception des mono- et disaccharides qui sont présents naturellement dans le fructane de type inuline. Le fructane de type inuline, biodégradable et sans effets eutrophiques sur les eaux de surface, peut être utilisé en remplacement des agents de conditionnement polymères cationiques qui se trouvent dans les compositions cosmétiques habituelles de rinçage. L'invention concerne également de nouvelles compositions de rinçage.
