Cosmetic skin conditioning compositions containing a salicyloxo .alpha.- carboxy acid. The inventive compositions provide control of sebum secretion from sebocytes, improved oil control and improved skin feel, prevent shine and stickiness, while also providing anti-aging benefits which results in reduced appearance of wrinkles and aged skin, improved skin color, treatment of photoaged skin, improvement in skin's radiance and clarity and finish, and an overall healthy and youthful appearance of the skin.

L'invention concerne des compositions de crèmes cosmétiques revitalisantes contenant un acide salicyloxo .alpha.-carboxy. Ces compositions assurent une régulation de la sécrétion de sébum à partir de sébocytes, rendent la peau moins grasse, plus douce, et plus lisse tout en empêchant les phénomènes de peau luisante. Les compositions étant non grasses, la peau reste mate. Les compositions protègent du vieillissement prématuré en atténuant les rides et l'aspect de peau fanée. Les compositions permettent aussi d'améliorer la couleur de la peau, de réparer les dommages de la peau causés par la lumière U.V., de redonner à la peau son éclat, sa clarté et un aspect lisse, ainsi qu'une apparence saine et jeune.
