ABSTRACT A method of forming a piece of jewelry comprises the steps of: forming a brass base defining at least one opening in its surface said opening having a cross sectional shape; forming at least one brass ornament defining at least one connecting means in its surface, the connecting means having a cross sectional shape corresponding to that of the cross sectional shape of the opening for tight engagement therewith; and inserting the con- necting means in the opening to connect the ornament to said base. The jewelry so formed comprises a base defining at least one opening in its surface, the opening having a cross sectional shape, at least one ornament for attachment to the base; and connecting means integral of said ornament and having a cross section corresponding to that of the opening such that upon insertion of the connecting means into the opening the ornament is attached to the base.
