The present invention is directed to a process for coupling an adhesive glycoprotein to a surface of a bulk material comprising the following steps: a) a layer of a volatile aldehyde is deposited to the surface of the bulk material from a gas plasma atmosphere, b) the layer so formed on the bulk material is contacted with a cell-adhesive glycoprotein having amino groups, c) the coupling of the amino groups of the glycoprotein to the carbonyl groups of the deposited aldehyde layer is strenghthened by transforming the primarily formed -CH=N- bonds in the presence of a reducing agent into -CH2-NH-bonds; and to a cell growth material comprising a bulk material having at least one surface to which a cell adhesive glycoprotein having amino groups is coupled characterized in that said amino groups are covalently bonded to aldehyde groups of a layer of a volatile aldehyde, deposited to the surface of said bulk material from a gas plasma atmosphere, via first formed -CH=N- groups which have been transformed into -CH2-NH- groups in the presence of a reducing agent.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de coupler une glycoprotéine adhésive à la surface d'un matériau en vrac, qui consiste a) à déposer une couche d'aldéhyde volatil sur la surface du matériau en vrac, à partir d'une atmosphère de plasma gazeux, b) à mettre en contact la couche ainsi formée sur le matériau en vrac avec une glycoprotéine d'adhérence cellulaire possédant des groupes aminés, c) à renforcer le couplage des groupes aminés de la glycoprotéine par rapport aux groupes carbonyle de la couche d'aldéhyde déposée, par transformation des liaisonsCH=N- essentiellement formées en présence d'un agent de réduction en liaisons CH¿2?-NH-. L'invention concerne également un matériau de croissance cellulaire, comprenant un matériau en vrac qui possède au moins une surface à laquelle une glycoprotéine d'adhérence cellulaire dotée de groupes aminés est couplée, caractérisé en ce que lesdits groupes aminés sont liés de manière covalente aux groupes aldéhyde d'une couche d'aldéhyde volatil déposée sur la surface dudit matériau en vrac, à partir d'une atmosphère de plasma gazeux, via les premiers groupesCH=N- formés qui ont été transformés en groupesCH¿2?-NH- en présence d'un agent de réduction.
